I completely lost my breath when I first saw this snow covered cabin.
Designed by Vardehaugen architects and located in the mountains of Norway, this stunning black timber cabin is in many ways a work of art. The deep angles of the building slope down and merge with the ground, as intended by the architects to blur the lines between nature and architecture.
When covered in snow, the black vertical timber cladding is in stark contrast against the billowy shapes of the white snow that cover the surroundings. Monochromatic perfection.
