I first came across these images in a magazine in 2013, and have since had them pinned up on the wall in my home office - providing me with daily inspiration and energy.
A recent conversation about marine design reminded me what a great design project this is, inside and out, and that I must share this on the blog.
The stunning B60 Sloop yacht is designed by architect John Pawson, in collaboration with naval architect Luca Brenta. The 60-foot luxury yacht feature minimalist design in simple yet high quality materials. The yachts glossy white hull is teamed with a teak deck - beautifully bleached by the elements. The crisp white palette is continued internally with white washed larch timber floors and joinery, softened by loose cover canvas upholsteries. Recessed lighting and handles enhance the calm and uncluttered sense of space.
I can imagine yacht interiors come with a range of challenges in relation to space planning, materiality and functionality, yet the B60 elude simplicity and timeless luxury - despite its 10 years since launching in 2006.
