The Boro Hotel on Long Island- NY, has recently opened its doors and with it a show case of great interiors with a industrial and Nordic edge. As a new fit out in an existing building - the architects Grzywinski & Pons only had scope to change the windows of the base building- ensuring expansive view over the city of NY from the rooms. The new interiors were linked to the building shell by exposing the concrete columns and adding concrete blocks and industrial accents.
With the use of raw and honest materials such as hand scraped oak floors, cork, steel, copper and leather, the interiors feel warm and welcoming and is designed to acquire a rich patina over time.
I would love to stay here next time Im visiting NY - and as if the interiors wasn't enough to convince me - they are pet friendly!
